Hi,
I use FeedHQ.org as my OpenReader account.
When I refresh my subscriptions, I will quite often see more unread articles in the count value next to the feed name than there will be articles in the Articles window (with Unread Articles filter applied).
A normal Refresh All Subscriptions or Refresh Selected Subscriptions does not resolve the issue.
However, if I right-click on the feed name and select 'Force Refresh Selected Subscriptions from Open Reader' the new articles will appear and all the counts will be in sync.
I'm using Version 3.1.4 :6ea6f87:, but this is not a new problem. I've had the same issue for several releases but didn't report it since there is a work-around by using the 'Force...' option.
Is there any way to get the normal Refresh to behave the same way as the 'Force Refresh..'?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: OpenReader sync issue
I presume this occurs with feeds having a lot of articles ?

Re: OpenReader sync issue
It doesn't seem to matter the number of new articles. I just got back to work after a couple days off. I left Vienna running. When I returned, my FreeNAS feed had one new unread article. Notice the count of 1 but no articles in the article title pane.
Using 'Force refresh...' corrected the problem.

Re: OpenReader sync issue
Just noticed one additional thing. It always seems to happen for updated articles. In my general preferences I have the 'Mark updated articles as new' option set.
Re: OpenReader sync issue
Can you try the attached Vienna version and confirm if it solves the issue ?

Re: OpenReader sync issue
Hi,
I've been running the new version for a day and it seems to resolve my issue. Thanks!
I'll keep running it to make sure the problem doesn't return.

Re: OpenReader sync issue
I spoke too soon. I just had a refresh with 3 updated articles. The only way to get them to show up in the title pane was to use the 'Force Refresh ...' option.
All 3 refreshed articles show a Date of Yesterday. So they weren't terribly old articles.

Re: OpenReader sync issue
OK, I will increase the time window from 12 to 48 hours prior to the latest refresh.

Re: OpenReader sync issue
Hi, Release 3.1.5 definitely is helping this issue, but on occasion there will be updates for articles that were first posted more than 48 hours in the past. Is there any reason the time window could not be extended even further? A month? A week? Is it a performance issue?
Thanks,
Chris
