Remove Group Chat from Contact List

Somebody initiated a group chat with another person and myself through AIM. This group chat (multi user chat) shows up as a contact in my contact list under a group heading which is simply a list of those members of the group chat. I do not want this group chat to show up as a contact, nor do I want a group heading with the names of the members of this group chat on my contact list. I have tried right clicking and selecting "remove..." for both the group and the contact. I have also attempted to block both the contact by right clicking and selecting "block..." Whenever I do either of these things the contact and the group leave my contact list, but only until one of the participants in the group logs on as an individual. Then the group contact and group heading both pop back up on my contact list. One of the other members of the group has tried multiple times to remove the group chat contact and heading and is unable to do so as well. I have also attempted removing the person who started the group chat with me from my contact list, and then removing the group chat contact in the hopes that that does the trick.

Nothing will make this group contact go away! I don't even want to talk to these people anymore! Please advise.
