SFTP with public key authentication setup

Postby jimiyash » Tue Oct 13, 2009 9:09 am

I generated my keys and am able to sftp and ssh into my server just fine from the command line. But when using cyberduck it fails with an I/O error. I know some people have been able to get it working so my settings must just be wrong. Here are my settings:

1) I create a new bookmark and choose SFTP(SSH File Transfer Protocol) on port 22.
2) I click the checkbox Use Public Key Authentication and choose my Private Key (~/.ssh/id_rsa).
3) I do not specify a path
4) I try to login with a blank password and it cannot connect

Some notes:
I didn't specify a password when I used ssh-keygen

When I created a new account on my mac and did ssh-keygen and used a password, i was able to connect with the private key. Is this by design that you cannot connect with a blank passphrase?
