uploading speeds

Postby cortezbanks » Tue Sep 29, 2009 9:29 pm

I started uploading to a server and it started at about 300kb/s. After about 30 seconds it has slowed down to about 90kb/s. im wondering why this is happening and if theres anything i can do to keep it at 300kb/s

I'm having issues with throughput as well.

I'm running 3.3b3 (5321) on my Snow Leopard MacBook Pro, connecting over WiFi-G to an Ubuntu 9.10 Linux server on my local house LAN. I have a 16GB VirtualBox disk image I am using to test the throughput.

With CyberDuck over sftp I can download from the linux box at a rate of 300-550 KB/s. With command-line from the terminal sftp, I can download at rates between 1.5-2.4 MB/s.

* edit to correct rates from bytes per second(Kb/s & Mb/s) to Bits per second(KB/s and MB/s)
