How can I change the ownership of a file/folder?

Postby abundance » Mon Apr 27, 2009 3:01 pm

Can anybody tell me how I can change the ownership of a file/folder with Cyberduck?

I uploaded two templates to my website with Joomla 1.5, but the template folders both have the ownership 99 (or "nobody"), so I can't upload any images or make changes. I need to change the ownership of the template folder to my username.
I couldn't find this option in Cyberduck, as far as I see I can only change the permissions, but now the ownership...

I have Cyberduck 3.2 (for Mac).

You could try using the 'Send Command' feature. The command will depend on the connection type. If you have access using a SSH session the standard UNIX command chown should work. For FTP it depends on the server type. Try SITE CHMOD or MFF.

Sorry, I am a real newbie in this area. Could you tell me the exact command that I would have to send in order to change the ownership of let's say folder "orbits" to owner "admin"? I don't know the syntax of CHMOD...
