Help me connect with Cyberduck please!!
Help me connect with Cyberduck please!!
I'm very new to this ftp thing and I'm in desperate need of some help. I'm using GoDaddy hosting service and I'm trying to connect it with Cyberduck. I have my hosting user name and password. I have my domain name. I click the "open connection" button, I type in my domain (I've tried several different variations, i.e. with and without www; ftp.domain.com; ftp-domain.com; etc. etc) Nothing works! What am I doing wrong? Every time I try it, it says: DNS error: Connection Failed. I've switched between passive and active mode. I've made sure there are no firewalls. I've also tried my main hosting username and password as well as my database user name and password. If anyone can help me out I would be forever grateful!!! Thank you!

Re: Help me connect with Cyberduck please!!
I am having the same issue with a godaddy hosting account. HELP!

Re: Help me connect with Cyberduck please!!
According to https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/ftpinfo.asp it is just your regular domain name to use for FTP connections. A DNS error means the hostname cannot be resolved.
Re: Help me connect with Cyberduck please!!
I have the same problem with a different hosting co. JustHost.com
I have also tried every combination possible. Including just host's signin/password. However when I use the bookmark I have no problem. Yes I know, just keep using the bookmark LOL, but being a former computer "specialist" (for PCs granted), I have difficulty giving up.
Do I need to contact justhost?
Thanks for any reply. I have noticed that most questions here are never answered.
Yes DNS error = host name can't be resolved. That is exactly the problem
