CNAME mystery

Postby volatility » Thu Jan 29, 2009 5:01 pm

Thanks for the useful tool. It's not clear to me whether the CNAME entry for Cloud Front actually works, or whether I'm using it incorrectly. Each time I add an entry (just one address) in the CNAME and apply in a deployed distribution, the tool responds by removing the entry from the text field but nothing else, perhaps because AWS expects the distribution to be disabled for this change. But when I uncheck the distribution in an attempt to disable it, the system responds by re-checking it. I can do these things okay with the cfcurl tools from Unix, so I know the DNS and AWS entries are wired properly. In fact I can then refresh and retrieve the CNAME in Cyberduck after making the entry from cfcurl. I need the distribution ID before I can make the DNS mapping entry. So, how can I make proper CNAME entries with Cyberduck? (Also, if there is a way to preserve the latest ETag value on the GUI that would be useful.) Changeset 4301 does not seem to offer any clues.

This was actually a severe bug fixed in r4495. Thanks for pointing this out.
