Can't stop Transmission notifications

I am desperate to stop Transmission notifications, as they pop up on top of VLC full screen videos. I have disabled transmission in growl settings, but for some reason I get constant notifications that growl found two errors in transmission's profile. notifications of downloads have stopped, but these pesky profile error messages are very annoying.

How can I stop Growl from displaying these messages?
