Call Prowl API from a public web page w/o exposing API key?

Postby Logical Extremes » Thu Jun 03, 2010 3:59 am

What's the best way (simple and secure) to send commands to Prowl from a public HTML/JS/PHP web page (typical LAMP-type hosting server), without making the API key publicly visible? I want to send customized data to Prowl upon someone rendering certain web pages.

I think the only way you can accomplish this is if your server sends the events; have the webpage call a server routine.

Thanks. I was hoping there might be another way. I don't have a dedicated server and my access to resources is limited. But I'll see what I can do.
