Utterly Frusturated and confused.

Hi!

First want to say that this is a great concept. I love the idea and the interface, and just about everything about it really...

Except that it simply doesn't work...

Hopefully someone here can give me some insight and direction because I really want to love this app and use it in my day to day activities. I am running Growlforwindows with Feed Monitor installed, as well as the Firefox/Greasemonkey script that notifies you of Google Reader updates.

Now, both operate quite well it seems, and I have no problems getting push updates.

The problem lies when I try to do something with these push updates. Nothing works.

At first I tried just keeping things simple. Get a push notification, open the app, push the notification, make it change colors, and nothing.

I then tried toying around with the redirects. In this instance I tried the Google Reader Notification with the Google Reader (Website) redirect. It opens up mobile safari and starts to redirect to google.com/reader, but then resets to just google.com.

I also tried playing with Feed Monitor, which is an RSS app for Growlforwindows. It works quite well. I have feeds coming in regularly. However I can't do anything at all with them. I have tried redirecting them and there seems to be nothing on the redirect list that would be suited to them, and I have tried manually pushing them in hopes to view them... But all I seem to do is just change colors.

So I guess in the end, my question is this: What am I doing wrong, and how do I get this to work?

Thanks!

Change colors? I'm confused; the Prowl application doesn't support changing the color of notifications in the manner you describe.

Sounds like you aren't logged in on your device, so it's redirecting you away. Does it work if you navigate manually to the reader website?

Sorry if I came off as a bit tepid in my first post...

What I meant when I said that the notification changes color, is that when I open up prowl and I have all of the notifications table up, the headers are green above the body of the headline. I'll tap/push/click/touch on the header, and make it change color to red. It stays red, until I tap/push/click/touch another notification header which then it will return back to being green and then the new header turns red.

It doesn't open up anything or do anything, it just changes the colors of the headers.

Now, in regards to me being logged in properly, as far as I can tell, I am. I open up google in mobile safari and my credentials are as they should be. So I'm not certain where to go from there.

When it's set up to redirect Google Reader to Google Reader (web site), it does open up mobile safari, but only when I get the close/view pop-up. And again, it starts to redirect, but it doesn't go to reader.

So that's about it. Not sure where to go from here. As it is, i can't actually view any of the notifications or open them or do anything with them. They are just there.

Thanks again for the reply, and I appreciate what your doing with this.

I dont know if this means anything, but when i have google reader notifications set up to redirect to google reader (web view). It opens up safari mobile and starts to load reader, but then a box comes up with an error message saying that "this site is using an invalid certificate, continue/cancel". I push continue and it stops loading reader and goes right to google.

This happens when i am loggd into my google account.
