Problem Downloading Youtube Vid w/ Lion

Postby tallhandsmstranger » Fri Aug 26, 2011 2:41 pm

Hello,

I'm a neophyte downloader from places like Youtube, and so I'm trying to follow along with a "How-to" video and having no luck. Unlike the video, when I click "Web Inspector," then click the "Resources" tab, I don't get icons of "Time" or "Size" on the left side of the screen. Instead, the left side of my screen has a folder icon named "Frames," then below are icons "Databases," "Local Storage," "Session Storage," "Cookies," and "Application Cache."

How do I change these into the "Time" and "Size" icons shown on these videos?

Totally clueless here.

Thank you.

You having issues because that's wrong. You should be using the Activity Monitor (or something like that; I can't verify the exact name since I'm not currently on a mac).

Yup, use Window > Activity. Then scroll through the list to find something that looks like a video file (the size usually gives it away). Option-double click it to download the file. Simply double-clicking the file may open it in Safari instead of downloading it.

Works with other sites as well (I use it everyday for sproutvideo).
