.mov to .flv conversion, using QT 7 Pro and Perian

Postby bartsher@aol.com » Tue Jan 18, 2011 9:03 pm

I downloaded Perian onto my Mac, then went to Quicktime 7 Pro, and opened a .mov file so that I could convert it to a flash file, .flv. Unfortunately, I cannot find a .flv option in the Export pull down menu. Isn't it supposed to be there?

I appreciate your help!

No, no it's not.
You have to remember that QT is, essentially, a container for various file types. Perian allows QT to contain flv files.
However, Apple decide what QT Pro can export to, and given the historical antipathy betwixt them and Adobe, that's never gonna happen.
Especially in a 15 buck app

This has been answered before.

No, not it at all. We could have made Perain export to FLV, but decided against any export of any kind in order to avoid legal issues.

Where did you pay $15? Perian is free.
