Vienna crashes every now and then
Vienna crashes every now and then, I think it's when I close a tab after having read an article.
The latest problem report generated by macOS (and sent to Apple) is here :

After restarting Vienna, everything works normally. Until next time.
Edit: the next time came much sooner than I would've thought. This time I was just about to click an article

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
Just to be sure, could you redownload the latest 3.2.1 ? Apparently, some libraries were damaged in the initial build.
Also, if a crash occurs, it would be more convenient for debuggers if you just zip and upload the crash report that you should find at ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
Thanks.

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
Thanks for the report.
Unfortunately, it seems that the crash is caused by some obscure JavaScript/WebKit problem. Do you remember if you were opening a tab / browsing a particular website at that time ?

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
I did have a tab open for a website, but I can't remember which one. I will pay more attention next time and make more detailed notes.
Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
The preferences file (~/Library/Preferences/uk.co.opencommunity.vienna2.plist) might also help: it keeps track of the opened tabs

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
Hi again,
now with macOS 10.13.4 and Vienna 3.3.0 the random crashes reoccur, twice today.
Here are the diagnostics and .plist :

Likewise, many crashes, always when I'm reading a downloaded tab, but it doesn't seem to matter what the tab is. Unusable. Here is one tab that causes reproducible crashes.

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
Crashes only seem to occur on Macworld web pages. Have had several crashes on that site but none on 9to5Mac. Must be something with their site.
Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
@gronos, thanks for your report which is particularly useful.
I also encountered some crashes with this page http://www.openculture.com/2018/04/hear ... pella.html, but I could not reproduce the ones you encountered with Macworld pages.
I tried a third machine, and I did not experience crashes, neither with Macworld pages nor the OpenCulture page.
So I reckon that the problem is real, but it is difficult to determine what are the exact circumstances which are causing it.
I see from the different logs that the problem is almost certainly related to Webkit/Javascript.
I have suspicions that pages containing videos are more likely to encounter the problem, but as I said, pages which cause crashes on a particular machine may be OK on another.
Have you tried rebooting your machine and/or emptying caches and did the Macworld problem reoccur ?

Also, can any of you confirm if returning to version 3.2.1 is a workaround for you ?

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
Link to another crash report below. This seems to happen only with the MacWorld website so it is clearly something that they are doing. If I open the same page in Safari from Vienna it does not cause a crash. This is a reasonable workaround for now.

Re: Vienna crashes every now and then
I experienced two crashes reading the site of Huffpost, the last one on this page:
https://www.huffingtonpost.fr/2018/04/0 ... _23405792/
The diagnostic report produced was for app called xpcproxy
