Unread article count - what does it mean?

Postby kirkmc » Mon Aug 23, 2010 7:48 pm

I mean, I know what it _should_ mean, but it's wrong most of the time. I see a number, then click on a feed or folder, only to find no unread articles, or to find a different number of unread articles than what actually displays.

I've just started trying out Vienna today, as a replacement for NetNewsWire, but this is very disturbing. Any idea why this would be happening, almost every time I refresh my feeds?

In the upper right corner, in the "filter by:" check box, what do you have that set at?

Just curious...

Ah, that fixed it. It was set to Last Refresh.

What's the point of that setting? If it ends up hiding stuff, why would one want to use it?

I use it all the time - when I want to see articles after which are new after a refresh. Sometimes I haven't finished with most feeds but still want to check some for newer articles.
