Can I subscribe to RSS feeds in Vienna from my browser?

Postby AndyK » Sun Mar 07, 2010 1:56 pm

I set Vienna as my default reader, but when I subscribe to a feed in Firefox it still opens it in NetNewsWire. (I looked for a preference in NNW as well). Am I missing something simple?

It's an option in the Firefox RSS page.

In that clip I show Firefox with Vienna chosen, if you pull down that menu you'll see an option to choose other. Do so, navigate to Vienna and choose it.

Edit: I have my Firefox Preferences -> Applications set like so, that's why I see that in Firefox.

There is a direct “use other...” option which will let you select Vienna and you won't see the “choose” at the top of the Firefox page.

I use the option to select the app because I develop RSS feeds and Camino has a nice quirk for me in that it displays the raw XML in a very pretty fashion which I find handy. So sometimes I select Camino if I'm not already in Camino.

Thanks, I couldn't find that screen, but I found it under the Applications tab under Preferences

Return to “Vienna”
