Override notification action for a given contact

Postby ponders » Mon Jul 14, 2014 7:55 pm

I have one contact that's particularly chatty and while I do want to be able to see messages from this contact, I do _not_ want any notification action(s) to occur when I receive a message from this contact. I've found the per-contact notification settings, but at least in the UI it's unclear how to disable the global notification action for this contact, rather it appears that I can only add actions on top of the global notification settings.

Is my understanding correct, and if so, what would be the best way to set things up to achieve the result I've described above?

Check out the „Do Nothing“ action.

"Do nothing" doesn't do nothing. Instead it's still doing the global actions. In other words it seems to mean "don't do anything else" as opposed to overriding the global behavior.

Is there anyone who can speak authoritatively on this? Does "Do nothing" really mean "don't do anything else" as appears be be true based on my observations of actual Adium behavior?
