Lately, everytime I reconnect to Google for my chats there, Adium requires me to get a new Google authorization key. Why isn't it being saved, and how do I get rid of the problem?
This happened once before, and it eventually stopped on its own.

That's because the new Yahoo Messenger is a totally different protocol.
It is time to dump Yahoo. The new Messenger does not even tell you who is online.

So, I got the real scoop. When Verizon bought Yahoo, they got the rights to the name "Yahoo Messenger" but not the software. So this is a totally different program (which sucks), and it will not work for sure. And on my Mac (10.11.6), it dies listing my chats.

Even worse, the new Yahoo croaks on my Mac.

Yup. It is August 6, and Adium will no longer connect to Yahoo.

I hope we get an official reply from Adium or Pidgin.

Will Adium still work with Yahoo chat rooms after August 5 when they are retiring the”old style” support?

I am still getting this. And even worse, if I have a phone arena page open in Vienna, and force quit, that page hangs Vienna when I start it again unless I am fast and can delete it before it loads.

Horizontal Layout. The hang is not there initially. I think it happens when all their ads start to take over the screen.

Every time I open an article in phonearena (http://www.phonearena.com/feed), Vienna hangs. I must force quit. This did not happen before 3.1.

In the past few days, Adium is requiring a Google access code to sign into my Google Talk accounts. That is a good idea. The problem is that Adium is not remembering the code from session to session, so I have to install a new access code every time I reconnect to this account, even if Adium is neve...

It is for many years now that transferring a file to a Yahoo user does not work. The person at the far end never gets notice of the transfer, on my end it appears to be instantly transferring, and it apparently goes into the bit bucket.

Why hasn't this been fixed? Am I the only one with this issue?

Under OS X Yosemite, Vienna starts, but just sits there with a spinning ball.

It is really frustrating for Vienna to totally freeze while it is checking for updates. Surely this could (and should) be done in a separate thread!

Using Adium 1.5.9 on Mavericks (and before), when I log off all messengers, I still see 1 or 2 of my contacts shown as online. They are still shown as online when I log back in, but are in fact offline.

Alas, I have a lot of friends who refuse to use anything other than Yahoo chat.

The more pressing problem is that AOL group chats are broken on Adium for people using the new AIM. It says that their client is not supported. And if they ionvite you, you can never delete the group that is created.

I guess it is Pidgin code. I think I filed a bug there too. But no one seems to care.

I had filed a bug on this, and just today they closed it claiming it was not in Adium’s code. Presumably it is part of Pidgin.
Everyone start complaining to Pidgin.

Its the $%^& new AOL. You cannot invite anyone using it to an Adium/Pidgin chat room. If they make one, it is forever stuck on your contact list until THEY deletre it. You cannot. The incompatibility with Adium needs fixing.
