It is still in Alpha, yes. My code currently doesn't attempt to reconnect, it just terminates, so I'm using a cron job to re-run it if it's not there. 24 hours now, and no re-connections needed. A small data set, but promising so far. Since I don't get too many mentions, perhaps that's why it's been...

I'm using a little Ruby script along with the Twitter streaming API to push mentions to my phone. I don't get that many, otherwise it'd be annoying. :)

I just need to make the script a little more robust for the ups and downs of the source API, which when it works is close to instantaneous.

EyeTV saves Program strams. With DVB it schould be MPEG2 but the "Stream" is different from normal MPEG files. Toast converts them for DVD (without reencoding). Maybe this helps: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transport_stream It's most likely that EyeTV saves MPEG-2 TS, if it's being used with a DVB...
